Brandon Williams and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 26-year-old Williams spent the past three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks after spending his rookie NBA season with the Portland Trail Blazers. In four seasons, he is averaging 10.7 points, 3.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 19 minutes per game.
In 66 games last season with the Mavericks, Williams averaged a career-high 13 points and 3.9 assists per game. The guard saw his minutes jump in Dallas following the injury to Kyrie Irving and D’Angelo Russell falling out of the regular rotation.
The signing of Williams, who went undrafted in 2021 out of Arizona, puts the Warriors near $252 million of salary cap allocation. It also keeps them about $2.6 million below the second apron, according to Spotrac.
