ARSENAL will not provide extra security for Diego Simeone at the Emirates on Tuesday.

The Atletico Madrid manager clashed with Liverpool fans in his team’s 3-2 loss at Anfield in September and was handed a Uefa ban for his antics.

Simeone served a touchline suspension during his team’s 5-1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt last month but will be back in his technical area at the Emirates.

Yet Arsenal club officials have decided against adding extra stewards near Simeone as they believe home fans are unlikely to dish out the type of stick handed to the Argentine coach by Liverpool’s supporters

Also, the configuration of the away dugouts and home seats mean managers are further away from supporters compared to Anfield.

There will still be stewards on hand in case there are any issues during the game.

Simeone was found guilty by Uefa of “unsporting conduct” following the incident on Merseyside.

Virgil van Dijk scored a 92nd-minute winner and Simeone reacted after he was goaded by a small number of home fans.

The Argentine complained to the fourth official and had to be dragged away from the scene.

He still continued his protests and was sent off and walked down the tunnel.

After the game, he said: “Firstly I regret the part I played.

“It’s clear we are in a position where we do not have the right to react and it is not good when we react.

“It’s not easy to be in the position we are in and receive insults for the whole game.

“I saw it from far away after the third goal. I saw the third goal go in and I turned, the insults continued, and well, I’m a person.”
