Alan “Veneno” Chaves (22-0, 19 KOs) stopped Miguel “Explosivo” Madueno (31-5, 28 KOs) in the third round to win the WBO Latino lightweight title in the co-main event at Fontainebleau Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chaves pressed the action early and found success with sharp power shots as the fight opened up. The finish came when he landed a crushing left hand that dropped Madueno hard. Referee Harvey Dock waved it off at 1:26 of round three.


Damian Sosa Upsets Freudis Rojas Jr.

Damian Sosa (27-3, 13 KOs) scored a 10-round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Freudis Rojas Jr. (15-1, 11 KOs) by scores of 96-93 across the board in a junior middleweight bout. Sosa applied steady pressure early, forcing Rojas to fight at a pace he never looked comfortable with. He dropped Rojas in the sixth round and kept control with constant punches and veteran timing. Rojas had moments, but Sosa’s experience and engine were the difference.

Nishant Dev Stops Juan Carlos Guerra Jr.

Junior middleweight Nishant Dev (6-0, 4 KOs) stopped Juan Carlos Guerra Jr. (6-3-1, 2 KOs) in the second round of their scheduled eight-rounder. Dev came out sharp and aggressive, taking command behind accurate combinations. He floored Guerra in round two and kept the pressure on until the referee halted it late in the session. The win gives Dev another quick finish as he continues his early pro run.

Angel Barrientes Cruises Past Luis Espinoza

Featherweight Angel Barrientes (15-1, 9 KOs) won an eight-round unanimous decision over Luis Espinoza (10-2, 4 KOs) with three scores of 80-72. Barrientes controlled the fight with clean boxing and a busy attack from the opening bell. He repeatedly beat Espinoza to the punch and gave away little in return. Espinoza stayed game throughout, but Barrientes was in charge the whole way.
