In the main event, WBO World Lightweight champion and southpaw Abdullah Mason, 21-0 (18) stopped ‘Prince’ Albert Bell, 28-1 (9) at 0:45 of the 12th and final round.

Over the first four rounds, Bell, taking the fight on just 10 days’ notice, outworked Mason. In the fifth and sixth rounds, Mason finally began winning rounds.

In the seventh round, Bell regained control. In the eighth, Mason drew blood from Bell’s nose with a left hand in the final minute. In the tenth, Bell suffered a cut over his left eyebrow as Mason won another round.

The eleventh could have gone either way. In the twelfth and final round, Mason dropped Bell with a left to the chin. Seconds later, Mason pushed an exhausted Bell to the canvas, sending him to his knees, when Referee Mark Nelson suddenly waved the fight off, a stoppage some felt came prematurely.

In the co-main event, WBC World Featherweight champion Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington, 18-0 (10), defeated southpaw Rene ‘Zurdo’ Palacios, 19-1-1 (10), by a 12-round unanimous decision.

Through the first six rounds, Carrington countered the oncoming Palacios effectively and consistently outlanded him.

In the eighth round, Palacios appeared to drop Carrington with a punch that landed to the side of the head, though Carrington claimed it was behind the head and Referee Harvey Dock did not rule it a knockdown.

In the final minute of the eleventh round, Palacios hurt Carrington with a left to the body, forcing the champion to hold for the remainder of the round. Palacios finished the twelfth strongly but was unable to overcome Carrington’s early lead, despite leaving the champion with marks under both eyes.

Scores were 116-112, 117-111, and 118-110.

Welterweight 2020 Olympian and WBO NABO champion Delante ‘Tiger’ Johnson, 18-0 (8), beat WBC Continental Americas champion Christopher ‘Machine Gun’ Guerrero, 16-1 (9) by a 10-round unanimous decision, while adding the IBF North American title.

The opening round featured little action until the final minute, when Johnson landed a right to the chin. In the third round, Guerrero finally connected with a right hand of his own, though Johnson won another close round.

In the closing seconds of the fourth, Guerrero rocked Johnson with a right hand to take his first round. He landed another solid right late in the fifth.

From the sixth through the eighth rounds, Johnson regained control, finishing the eighth strongly. He continued countering Guerrero in the ninth while dominating with his jab. In the tenth and final round, Johnson landed a series of unanswered punches midway through the round to seal the victory.

Scores were 100-92, 99-91, and 99-91.

Referee: Lonnie Scott

Lightweight Deric ‘Scooter’ Davis, 12-0 (10) won a disputed eight-round decision over southpaw Carlos Ramos, 18-5-1 (10) as the fans made it clear they disagreed with the verdict.

Ramos finished the stronger fighter in the second round, with Davis having difficulty against his first southpaw opponent. Ramos continued to have the edge through the sixth round before suffering a cut over his right eyebrow late in the fight.

The seventh round was pivotal, with Davis doing enough to edge it. The eighth and final round appeared close enough that many felt the fight was either a draw or a Ramos victory.

Scores were 77-75, 78-74, and 78-74.

Super featherweight Ibrahim Mason, 3-0 (3) stopped Erik Hanley, 1-3 (1) in the second round of a scheduled four-round bout, scoring four knockdowns.

In the second round, Mason dropped Hanley with a left to the chin for an eight-count from Referee Lonnie Scott. A body shot produced the second knockdown, a right hand to the chin sent Hanley down again, and another body shot scored the fourth knockdown, ending the fight.

Lightweight Abdurrahman Mason, 3-0 (2) outpointed Alvaro Huizar, 1-1) by an entertaining four-round unanimous decision.

In the second round, Mason rocked Huizar with a right to the chin, but Huizar fired back with a combination that briefly stunned Mason. Midway through the third round, Mason knocked Huizar’s mouthpiece out and opened a cut over his left eyebrow. Huizar lost his mouthpiece again in the closing seconds of the round.

In the fourth and final round, Huizar’s mouthpiece came out for a third time. It was the best action of the fight, with Mason finishing strongly behind effective body punching.

Scores were 40-36 on all three cards.
