A one-of-one sports card featuring autographs from Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in addition to game-worn NBA logo jersey patches from the NBA legends will sell at a public auction held by trading card marketplace Alt this month.
“This card was in a private collection for a couple of decades and no one knew it was available,” Alt senior account executive Brendan Kirbach told The Athletic’s Benjamin Burrows. “It was just sitting raw in someone’s collection.”
The 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman card was held in a collection in ungraded condition for nearly 20 years before being sold to the current owner, who had the card graded by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) grading service last month. The card was graded as an 8 (on a 1-10 scale), according to The Athletic.
The Bryant-James card is from the same set as a one-of-one Bryant and Michael Jordan Dual Logoman card that sold for $12.93 million through Heritage Auctions a year ago. With that price, it became the most expensive sports card ever sold, going for more than twice what Heritage estimated.

Could the Kobe-LeBron card surpass the record $12.93 million? Alt wouldn’t put a pre-sale estimate on the card, but PSA told The Athletic that the item is among the most valuable cards that the service has graded this year.
Possibly adding to the value is the card being issued in 2007-08. Bryant won the only NBA MVP award of his career that season, as Men’s Journal pointed out. And LeBron James won the only scoring title of his career, averaging 30 points per game.
The bidding for the Kobe-LeBron card opened on Friday and has already surpassed $2 million, according to Sports Collectors Daily. The auction will run through Sept. 24.
