Marco Romero Headlines Free Rolly-Teofimo Prelims

The eight-round bout with Mitchell will headline the preliminary presentation streamed free for Amazon Prime Video subscribers, Francisco A. Salazar reported. Joseph Brown against Alton Wiggins will open the broadcast, with Romero-Mitchell closing the three-fight portion before the pay-per-view begins.

With six wins, one loss, and four knockouts, Mitchell represents another developmental opponent for Romero. The platform and venue make this assignment different from the fights that filled his first two years. A March meeting with William Langston took Romero eight rounds, with the 20-year-old winning every round on all three scorecards. His other two outings this year ended inside the distance: Vaughn Alexander declined to answer the bell for the seventh round in February, while Andre Sherard was stopped during the opening round in May.

The appeal goes beyond the knockout numbers. Romero uses an attack-oriented, old-school style built around moving forward, applying pressure, and breaking down the fighter in front of him.

That approach gives fans an alternative to the hit-and-not-get-hit style used by many heavily promoted prospects. Romero fights like a larger version of Julio César Chávez, closing the distance and going after his opponent instead of settling for a cautious points win.
