Tim Bradley Tells Bill Haney To Forget Tank And Revisit Ryan Garcia Rematch

Bradley doesn’t believe Devin Haney’s next fight will be against Gervonta “Tank” Davis, and thinks Bill Haney should instead turn his attention toward making a lucrative rematch with Ryan Garcia.

With the WBO having ordered Haney to defend his welterweight title against mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis, Bradley believes Team Haney is running out of alternatives. The former two-division world champion dismissed hopes of landing Tank and suggested Ryan is the biggest money fight still available.

“Tank ain’t fighting you. You get more money for that, I get it. That’s off the table,” said Bradley on his YouTube channel.

Bradley also believes Shakur Stevenson has moved on from pursuing Haney, leaving Keyshawn as the mandatory option.

“You’re left with just Keyshawn. And I know you don’t want to do the Keyshawn fight. Hell no. Why do the Keyshawn fight? I think it’s a lose-lose situation. You beat him, ‘Oh, he ain’t had no experience.’ He beats you, ‘Oh, you ain’t that good.’ And is the money going to be right? Don’t know.”

Instead, Bradley urged Bill Haney to revisit a second fight with Ryan Garcia, arguing it would generate far more interest than a bout with Keyshawn.

“Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia. That’s going to make money. Part two? Oh, hell yeah. They’re going to have that running clip of Haney getting tossed around the ring,” said Bradley. “That could be a stadium fight because everybody’s coming out to see that because of how good the first one was.”

Bradley added that, from a business standpoint, Haney would be better off pursuing Garcia than risking his WBO title against Davis.

“That Ryan Garcia fight, that’s up there with a Tank fight. You might want to think about revisiting that. Contact Oscar De La Hoya,” said Tim.

Haney is under pressure to respond to the WBO’s order for a mandatory defense against Davis, with negotiations subject to the sanctioning body’s deadline. Bradley warned that passing on the fight without securing a bigger alternative could damage Haney’s reputation, even if he understands why Team Haney is searching for a more lucrative option.
