Conor Benn Says He Only Needs Eight Weeks To Prepare For Ryan Garcia

Conor Benn says he is ready to face Ryan Garcia whenever the opportunity presents itself, insisting that he only needs eight weeks to prepare for any opponent.

Benn has been linked with Ryan in recent months, with both fighters trading verbal jabs on social media as speculation continues over a potential showdown. Although no official agreement has been announced, Benn made it clear that he has no concerns about the timing if the fight is eventually finalized.

Responding to a question from a fan during a recent appearance in Washington, D.C., Benn issued another message to Ryan.

“When he finds his pet and whenever he comes out from wherever he’s hiding, he can get the smoke. No problem,” said Benn at UFC 250 Freedom Fanfest on Saturday.

Earlier in the discussion, Benn also stressed that he remains in fighting shape throughout the year and would not require a lengthy training camp to prepare for a major bout.

“I’m always there or thereabouts in shape. I stay in shape out of training. All I need is eight weeks to get ready. I need eight weeks for anyone.”

Benn added that entertaining fans remains one of the driving forces behind his approach to boxing.

“I’d rather lose an exciting fight than win a boring fight. Because for me, it’s like, well, then did you even win,” said Benn.

“I want people to go, ‘I want to watch Benn fight next. I want to watch Conor fight this guy.’ Win, lose, or draw, I fight with my heart on my sleeve, and I put it all on the line every time.”

Ryan has been repeatedly mentioned as a potential opponent for Benn, although both men have pursued other options in recent months. Benn has continued to campaign for the fight publicly, while also targeting a future shot at the WBC welterweight title.
