Some praised Foster’s conditioning and predicted a sharp performance against Ford, while others questioned whether the WBC super featherweight champion may be cutting too much weight ahead of the defense.

Foster rarely receives the same attention as some of the bigger names around the lower weight classes, but the viral photo pushed him back into the conversation online. Fans debated whether Ford would be able to handle Foster’s strength and physicality after moving up from featherweight for the fight.

The matchup already carried interest because of the Houston setting and the tension between the two fighters online, but Foster’s training photo added even more discussion around the DAZN card. Houston fans are expected to turn out heavily for the event at the Fertitta Center, which will be one of the biggest hometown appearances of Foster’s career.

Foster generated more attention after his win over Stephen Fulton, with many fans hoping he would remain at lightweight and continue pushing for a fight against Shakur Stevenson.

Instead, Foster returned to 130 pounds, and the talk surrounding a Stevenson fight gradually cooled.

A strong performance against Ford could quickly change that again, especially if Foster delivers the type of performance fans now expect after seeing the condition he appears to be in heading into the fight.
