Dubois Climbs

The updated rankings now place Dubois directly behind champion Oleksandr Usyk and ahead of both Agit Kabayel and Tyson Fury.

Heavyweight rankings:

C. Oleksandr Usyk

  1. Daniel Dubois
  2. Agit Kabayel
  3. Tyson Fury
  4. Fabio Wardley

The jump is significant because Dubois entered the Wardley fight below both Kabayel and Fury in the Ring standings. His victory has now vaulted him ahead of both heavyweights, a move that is likely to divide fans.

Although Dubois showed toughness by recovering from two knockdowns and eventually stopping Wardley, some fans are expected to question whether one win should move him above Kabayel, who remains unbeaten at 27-0 with 19 knockouts, and Fury, the former WBC heavyweight champion.

The move is likely to split fans because Kabayel remains unbeaten and has quietly put together one of the division’s stronger recent runs. Some fans may feel he did not do anything to lose ground in the rankings other than not fighting on Saturday’s card.

Fury’s placement at #3 could also draw debate because his only defeats came against Usyk, and his overall body of work still carries weight with many fans.

Dubois also had difficult moments against Wardley before turning the fight around. He was dropped twice early before rallying for the stoppage victory, which may leave some fans questioning whether one dramatic win should move him ahead of both Kabayel and Fury.

Wardley Fallout

Wardley dropped three places to #4 following the loss, but remained inside the top tier after pushing Dubois through one of the toughest fights of his career.

The Ring also made changes in three other divisions following Saturday’s card, including movement at light heavyweight after Zak Chelli stopped David Morrell in the final round of their upset fight on the undercard.
