“Let’s get it going!” Dubois said to Fight Hub TV about a possible fight with Benavidez.

The timing of the comment is interesting because Benavidez has been openly talking about bigger goals after stopping Zurdo. He already holds a size advantage over most fighters at 175 and cruiserweight, but heavyweight is a completely different world. Dubois walks into the ring at around 260 pounds and is one of the division’s hardest punchers.

A lot of fans immediately focused on the physical difference. Benavidez looked huge at 168 and still appeared naturally bigger than David Morrell and Oleksandr Gvozdyk at 175, big at cruiserweight against Zurdo, but heavyweight power is another level. Dubois is a full heavyweight who has been in with Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic, and Jarrell Miller.

The reaction online was mostly skepticism toward Benavidez’s chances if he moved up that far. Some fans believe his volume punching and pressure could bother heavyweights, but many others see the size and durability difference becoming a serious problem quickly.

Another issue is whether Benavidez actually needs heavyweight at all. Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev are still sitting at 175, and there are major fights available for him there without giving away 40 or 50 pounds on fight night.

Dubois also has bigger business directly in front of him. If he gets past Wardley this weekend, the focus could shift toward undisputed talks or other major heavyweight fights. Still, the fact that he immediately welcomed Benavidez says a lot. Dubois clearly doesn’t view him as someone too dangerous to invite into the division.
