Tszyu faces the undefeated Nurja in the main event of a PBC Championship Boxing card in Australia, marking his second outing with trainer Pedro Diaz as he looks to move back toward world title contention.

“The word annihilation has been in my head and repeated in my head for the last seven weeks,” Tszyu said during fight week. “That’s all I want to do. My whole purpose right now is just to annihilate.”

The Australian also made clear that simply winning is not enough, stressing that how he wins carries equal importance as he continues his rebuild.

“I need to win,” Tszyu said. “And the win comes from the way I want to do it.”

Tszyu acknowledged the risks that come with every fight, pointing to both career and physical danger as part of the reality he accepts each time he steps into the ring.

“Everything is at risk. Your whole career,” Tszyu said. “The biggest risk is not just losing, but your health. You’re always one punch away, so I prepare strong every time because I know what’s ahead.”

Nurja, who enters the bout unbeaten and ranked inside the top 15, kept his focus on the immediate task and dismissed any talk of future plans for Tszyu.

“I understand these thoughts, but he still has to pass through me before thinking about Errol Spence Jr.,” Nurja said. “This is no easy task.”

The bout headlines a Prime Video card from the WIN Entertainment Centre, with Tszyu aiming to deliver the type of performance he believes will reassert his position in the division.
