Hearn pointed to the support he gave Benn during their time together, including financial help, and made it clear he expected some level of contact after the split. His comments highlighted the disconnect between that expectation and what followed, with no communication after Benn’s move despite their long working relationship.

“He wouldn’t even phone me after representing him for nine years and lending him about a million quid,” Hearn said to iFL TV about Conor following the event.

The comment came when Hearn was asked whether Benn might attend the show or speak with him in person, an idea he dismissed quickly.

“He wouldn’t even phone me. Do you really think he was going to turn up here and look me in the eye? No chance,” Hearn said.

Benn was not present at the event, and no contact between the two was suggested.

Hearn did not spend time on the business side of Benn’s move. He did not get into contracts, negotiations, or future options. His focus stayed on communication, or the lack of it, after a long run of working together.

The two had worked together through Benn’s development from prospect to a main attraction in the UK market, headlining cards, and building his profile into one of Matchroom’s more visible names. Hearn’s involvement stretched across those stages, and he pointed to that history while describing the current distance.

He also made clear that the length of that working relationship is part of why the silence stands out to him. Hearn described a situation where, in his view, a simple call would have been expected after such a long association.

There was no indication from his comments that the situation is close to being repaired. He left the door open in general terms but did not suggest any recent contact or effort to reconnect.

Hearn returned to the same point when describing the situation, keeping his focus on what he says never happened after the split, and why that continues to define how he views it.
