Zab Judah Predicts Devin Haney Will Unify at 147

Zab Judah says Devin Haney is en route to unifying the titles at 147 after capturing the WBO welterweight belt last Saturday. Devin amplified a social media post from the retired former two-division world champion Judah in which he predicted he would unify the division.

Bill Haney Targets Rolly Romero

Haney’s dad, Bill, floated the idea today of Devin facing WBA welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in a unification fight on the same card as Ryan Garcia’s bout against WBC 147-lb champion Mario Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) on February 21, 2026.

Judah Crowns Haney the Future King

“Devin is on his way to unifying the titles at 147. Remember where you heard it first. Team Haney,” said Zab Judah on X about his belief that Devin Haney will unify against WBA welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly Romero, and or the winner of the Ryan Garcia vs. WBC champion Mario Barrios.

Can Ryan Dethrone Barrios?

Ryan’s powerful left hook gives him a good shot at dethroning Barrios. But it’s still far from a certainty that he beats him. Barrios is tough, and he could defeat Ryan just by fighting aggressively like Rolly did earlier this year on May 2, 2025, at Times Square in New York.

Haney will have an even tougher time beating Rolly because he would have to muster some offense. Fighting the way he did against former WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. last Saturday night won’t be enough for Devin to defeat Romero. He’s got power and won’t be afraid to walk Haney down, hitting him with heavy shots.

Rolly Romero: The Bigger Threat

Haney’s clinching style may not work against Rolly because he’s powerful and good on the inside. If Devin runs all night as he did in his fight against Jose Ramirez on May 2nd, that may not be enough. Romero would be prepared for that approach, as he would be for Devin’s clinch-heavy style.

Rolly and Ryan are more experienced than Brian Norman Jr., so if Devin chooses to use the same game plan he used against Brian Norman Jr., it may not be effective.
