ALEXANDER ZVEREV and Laura Robson shared a flirty interview that left one of them “mumbling”.
The world number two defeated Andrey Rublev 6-4 6-4 in his first group stage match of the ATP World Tour Finals.
After the match Zverev was interviewed by Sky Sports’ Laura Robson – a former British No1.
The interview got off to an informal start as Robson poked fun at Zverev, claiming he suggested he did not even break a sweat during his match.
Zverev hit back, clarifying: “That’s not what I said.
“I gave you a handshake – let’s be clear with the spectators – I gave you a handshake, you complained about a handshake, that was too formal.
“Then I tried to give you two kisses on the cheek and you said ‘no you’re sweaty get away from me’ and then I said you complain about too many things.”
Robson beamed as she quickly moved on, with the pair discussing the match and Zverev’s aims for the tournament.
However the German had to cut the interview short as he joked Robson made him nervous, which sparked giggles from the interviewer.
He said: “You make me nervous during this interview, I start mumbling and I don’t know what to say anymore.”
Robson, 30, then said they could stop the interview and burst out laughing as Zverev, 27, labelled it the most awkward interview he has had this year.
Fans picked up on the chemistry between the two with some suggesting they were flirting with one another.
One fan said: “It’s so flirty it makes even me blush.”
Another added: “I thought that interview was pure magic.”
And a third wrote: “Some serious flirting going on here…🤐”
