Knicks small forward OG Anunoby left Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers with a right foot sprain.

Anunoby suffered the non-contact injury while receiving a pass on the left wing from Jalen Brunson early in the third quarter.

After squaring up for a three-point attempt, the small forward immediately collapsed to his knees in pain, grabbing at his lower leg. He was able to make his way back to the locker room under his own power, but appeared to be walking with a noticeable limp.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t have much of an update postgame, but X-rays did come back negative.

Things could change but the initial outlook at least seems positive for New York, who could ill afford to lose a piece as valuable as Anunoby, one of their biggest contributors on both ends of the court.

The 27-year-old is averaging 16.4 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 36 percent from three-point range and usually defending the other team’s top-scoring threat.
