Worrying footage emerges of Noni Madueke amid fears Arsenal star has suffered serious injury

A worrying video of Noni Madueke limping into the dressing room has surfaced online amid reports that he has suffered a significant injury.

The Gunners winger was forced off at half-time during the 1-1 draw at the Emirates on Sunday, replaced by Bukayo Saka, who himself has only just returned from a hamstring strain.

Madueke’s substitution initially appeared to be a tactical decision, but SunSport sources at Arsenal say the player was nowhere to be seen after the final whistle.

SunSport has also learned that Madueke’s parents, who are usually present to meet him after every home game, were notably absent, as speculation surrounding the severity of his injury continues to mount.

At the time of the substitution, many believed it was merely a strategic switch, but manager Mikel Arteta later confirmed that Madueke was struggling with an issue.

The Gunners boss said after the game: “He had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue.”

Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £52 million summer transfer.

The Gunners’ new signing has started four of the club’s opening five Premier League matches but is yet to register a goal or an assist.

However, he did impress in the first half against Manchester City and was one of the brightest players for Mikel Arteta in the game.

He also impressed for the Three Lions during the most recent international break.

Thomas Tuchel started Madueke in qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, with the Barnet-born winger scoring in the 5-0 demolition of the latter.

Meanwhile, Arteta has already had to contend with several injuries this season.

Saka, 24, made his return on Sunday after missing three games with a hamstring issue.

Club captain Martin Odegaard is managing a persistent shoulder problem, while Kai Havertz required knee surgery last month.

Gabriel Jesus also remains a long-term absentee.
