World’s most valuable squads revealed as Chelsea soar to No1 spot and three Premier League teams in top five

TODD BOEHLY’S Chelsea transfer blitz has made the Blues the most valuable squad in world football.

Number crunchers at the Swiss-based CIES Football Observatory have calculated that Enzo Maresca’s Stamford Bridge squad is worth a staggering £1.56bn.

That is around £100m more than second placed Real Madrid in a table that has SEVEN Prem sides in the top 12.

Since the Boehly-led takeover of the Blues in 2022, after Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his stake in the club, Chelsea have spent almost £1.5bn on players.

This summer’s arrivals included Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens.

And while some of the spending has been balanced by sales, the total value of the squad has risen by £315m.

The Prem’s financial strength is shown with all 20 top flight clubs in the first 60 places on the global list of squad values.

Manchester City are third in the international table, with Pep Guardiola’s squad valued at £1.28bn, closely followed by Arsenal, just £1m behind in fourth.

Liverpool, in sixth on £1.21bn, stand one place below European champions PSG, with Barcelona the seventh club with a £1bn-plus valuation.

Then come Spurs, eighth globally with a squad under Thomas Frank worth £907m, with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan completing the top 10.

Boehly’s big-spending Blues sit seventh in the Prem table after seven matches.

Maresca’s men secured a priceless 2-1 triumph over Liverpool at the weekend, with Estevao bagging a last-gasp winner.
