WIMBLEDON star Cameron Norrie awkwardly shut down a question on Emma Raducanu’s love life.
The British star, 29, beat Mattia Bellucci in straight sets on Friday to progress to the fourth round.
In his post-match press conference, Norrie was quizzed on Raducanu amid rumours of her growing close to reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz.
A journalist asked the world No61: “Some of the gossip has been about who Emma Raducanu is dating.
“Can I ask if you are dating her? Can we get to the bottom of this please?”
A perplexed Norrie replied: “Sorry?”
The reporter then responded: “I am trying to find out who is dating Emma Raducanu.
“It seems to be going around all the men’s singles… I was wondering if you’re dating her, please?”
A clearly uncomfortable Norrie then said: “I’m not, no. You can ask her. I don’t know.”
The 2022 Wimbledon semi-finalist is in a relationship with Louise Jacobi.
Norrie reportedly met the New York-born textiles designer five years ago.
Raducanu, who was defeated by world No1 Aryna Sabalenka last night, has played down her relationship with Alcaraz and claimed they are just good friends.
It comes after a source exclusively revealed to SunSport that the pair had a “spark” and arrived at the Queen’s tournament last month within minutes of each other amid suggestions of spending cosy days together.
On her bond with Alcaraz, Raducanu said: “I’ve known him for years.
“Wimbledon 2021 was the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021.
“We have a good relationship still. He’s obviously overtaken me a lot, but it’s nice that we have that from a while ago.
“I think for all of us, we really kind of value those connections that we had from when we were young because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age because you’re like, that’s a real genuine connection.
“Because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends but the ones that you’ve known for a long time mean a lot more to you.”
