Bit of a loose backhand to kick-start the game from Sinner.
Alcaraz then looks to step on the gas for 0-30 after some great counter-attacking – but his backhand lands just wide of the mark.
That was seriously close.
Sinner finds a timely first serve and looks to his box with a clenched fist – he knows he needed that.
But then comes a very nervy, uncomfortable drive volley – it looks like he maybe changed his mind – and it flies long.
Alcaraz two points from the first set…
And he has a set point when Alcaraz disguises a superb drop shot and as Sinner pushes off, he loses his footing. 30-40.
Chance. Chance gone. Second serve into the body and Alcaraz can’t open himself up and drags the backhand return into the net. Deuce.
Double fault! Not good timing to send a second serve long…

ALCARAZ DOES IT – AND HE DOES IT IN STYLE!
Incredible defence as Sinner tees off and goes for broke.
But the Spaniard appears from nowhere to slide across into the backhand and digs out a stunning backhand slice and he drops it over the net – and Sinner can’t get there.
