British heavyweight Derek Chisora made his pro boxing debut back in February 2007 when he defeated Istvan Kecskes via second-round TKO. Chisora would go on to win his next 13 fights.

From that point, Chisora experienced a career that consisted of a series of ups and downs. After fifteen years of putting in work, Chisora finally received the opportunity to fight for a world title back in December 2022.

Derek Chisora had a golden opportunity, as he was set to face the WBC world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury. In the opening round of the WBC world title bout, Derek Chisora was very aggressive as he pressed forward, trying to land the overhand right.

During the course of the next nine rounds, Fury controlled the range and the distance and landed sharp, accurate punches. With 12 seconds remaining in round ten, the referee had seen enough, as he stepped in and put a halt to the contest.

Chisora would bounce back by defeating Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin. Riding a three-fight win streak, the 42-year-old Derek Chisora is about to face one of the most dangerous heavyweights in boxing history.

Deontay Wilder was never known for his boxing skill set, but he was feared because of his one-punch knockout ability. From 2015 to 2020, Wilder had 10 successful title defenses.

Aside from his dangerous right hand and his five-year reign as the WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder is most known for his participation in the action-packed trilogy against Tyson Fury.

The trilogy was exciting, but unfortunately for Wilder, he finished the series with a record of (0-2-1). Since the conclusion of the trilogy, Deontay Wilder hasn’t looked like the same fighter.

Back in October 2022, Deontay Wilder appeared to be his old self as he stopped Robert Helenius in the first round. However, Wilder would go on to look unrecognizable when he took a couple of trips to Saudi Arabia.

In December 2023, on the Riyadh Season Day of Reckoning card, Deontay Wilder was thoroughly outboxed as Joseph Parker earned a unanimous decision victory. Six months later, Wilder returned to Saudi Arabia and was brutally stopped in the 5th round by Zhilei Zhang.

After suffering two consecutive losses, the former WBC world champion bounced back by stopping Tyrrell Herndon in the 7th round. Now the 40-year-old Deontay Wilder (44-4-1 43 KOs) is ready to take on a very determined opponent.

Derek Chisora is a fighter who likes to constantly press forward to land hooks and looping overhand rights. Deontay Wilder has an unconventional boxing style in which he patiently waits for an opening so he can land his devastating right hand.

The Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora bout will be the classic action-packed, fan-friendly type of fight. The question is due to Chisora’s aggression and Wilder’s punching power. Will this match make it past the first round?

The answer to that pivotal question depends on the mood of Derek Chisora. If Chisora is focused on applying intelligent pressure, then we may see a six-to twelve-round fight.

In addition to utilizing intelligent pressure, Chisora has to control the distance and execute his offense from the mid-range. If we’re going to see rounds, then that’s what Chisora must do.

If Chisora plans on doing what he said at the press conference, then Saturday night’s main event will be a short night of boxing. Chisora suggested the fight may not reach the second round because his game plan will be “F**k It Let’s Go!”
