Why Jake Paul’s Fight Against Chávez Jr Proves He’s Bad for Boxing

Why Jake Paul’s Fight Against Chávez Jr Proves He’s Bad for Boxing

Piers Morgan: “Jake Paul is killing boxing with this boring staged bulls**t against older fighters way past their prime.”

Jake Paul strutted into Anaheim spouting off about world titles and future greatness. Instead, fans got the same tired circus: a half-baked spectacle from a wannabe boxer more focused on cashing checks than actually testing himself against anyone dangerous.

Fans Boo Jake Paul’s Boring Clinch-Fest Against Chávez Jr

Julio César Chávez Jr hasn’t been a serious threat in years. As Piers Morgan put it:

“The guy’s lining his pockets with buckets of $$$$. But he’s killing boxing with this boring staged bulls**t”

Paul bragged about knockouts. What fans got was sloppy swinging, endless hugging, and Chávez Jr throwing fewer punches than a mannequin. The crowd booed loudly, clearly tired of watching Paul run his mouth then play patty-cake in the ring.

Piers Morgan Shreds Jake Paul’s Pathetic Performance

Morgan didn’t hold back. After this sorry excuse for a fight, Piers said:

“BREAKING: I had a better fight with Jake Paul on Thursday than the unwatchable farce that took place tonight.”

He’s spot on. Paul picks washed-up names, throws on a flashy promo reel, and pretends he’s saving boxing. Meanwhile, DAZN milks fans for pay-per-view money and laughs all the way to the bank.

Jake Paul Calls Out Champions After Beating Another Ghost

After this sorry mess, Paul grabbed the mic and vomited out the same recycled nonsense:
“I want tougher fighters. I want to be world champion. Zurdo looked slow as s**t tonight. That’d be easy work. Badou Jack, I want everybody. Anthony Joshua, Gervonta [Davis], Tommy [Fury], stop running.”

Let’s dissect that:

  • He barely landed clean on Chávez Jr, who looked like he trained by eating tacos and watching Netflix.

  • He hugged more than he punched.

  • He threw fewer meaningful shots than a toddler with mittens.
But now he thinks he’s ready for Zurdo? Gervonta? Joshua? Someone check his drink.

Paul’s got a pattern — find a fading name, bark on social media, promise knockouts, then serve up twelve rounds of dry toast. He’s boxing’s answer to clickbait — loud, useless, and always disappointing.

And Chávez Jr? He should never be in a ring again. Lazy, unmotivated, and totally disinterested. If he wasn’t Canelo’s sloppy seconds from a decade ago, he’d be headlining car park fights in Tijuana for burrito vouchers.

Stop Paying for This Junk

Jake Paul’s whole act is built on lies.
He says he wants to “save boxing.” He’s doing the opposite.
Every fight is trash — no stakes, no risk, no danger. Just a cash grab dressed up with influencer smoke and mirrors.

The sad part? People  still pay.
But maybe now they’ve had enough.
Maybe now, after this dreadful performance against a walking corpse like Chávez Jr, they’ll stop funding this fake tough guy routine.
