CHELSEA are set to clash Premier League leaders Liverpool in a blockbuster tie at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have endured a mixed start to the new season, but have seen consistency in the form of red cards as of late.
Joao Pedro’s red card against Benfica was the third time in four games that Enzo Maresca’s side have seen red.
The Brazilian’s dismissal came after Robert Sanchez and Trevoh Chalobah were given their marching orders against Man Utd and Brighton respectively.
The London side did get manage to finish with 11 in a narrow 2-1 victory over League One side Lincoln, but the display still left a lot to be desired.
SunSport can reveal why Joao Pedro is not suspended for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Why is Joao Pedro not suspended for Chelsea against Liverpool?
Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro is not suspended for the clash due to his red card suspension not carrying over from the Champions League.
Pedro signed for the Blues from Brighton for a reported £55million fee during the Club World Cup, going on to score in the final.
He will miss Chelsea’s next Champions League clash against Ajax, but not this weekend against Liverpool.
Unlike Robert Sanchez, who was able to play back-to-back Premier League games, Pedro must serve his suspension in the competition he was shown the red for.
