British No1 Jack Draper was among the favourites for the trophy on home soil but struggled to get going.

Why are there no line judges at Wimbledon?
Starting with the 2025 edition of Wimbledon, line judges will be replaced by electronic line calling.
For decades, men and women have been around the edges of the courts, shouting “out” and “fault”.
But now the iconic grass-court tournament will rely solely on electronic line calling.
The French Open is the only Grand Slam event not to use the technology and continues to rely on line judges and umpires, as well as the ball marks left on the clay.
This season, the ATP has adopted electronic line calling in all of its events to “optimise accuracy and consistency across tournaments, match courts and surfaces”.
In a statement, the All England Club’s chief executive, Sally Bolton, said: “The decision to introduce Live Electronic Line Calling at The Championships was made following a significant period of consideration and consultation.
“Having reviewed the results of the testing undertaken at The Championships this year, we consider the technology to be sufficiently robust and the time is right to take this important step in seeking maximum accuracy in our officiating.
“For the players, it will offer them the same conditions they have played under at a number of other events on tour.
“We take our responsibility to balance tradition and innovation at Wimbledon very seriously.
“Line umpires have played a central role in our officiating set-up at The Championships for many decades and we recognise their valuable contribution and thank them for their commitment and service.”
What is electronic line calling?
Electronic line calling uses cameras, computers and sensors to track a ball and is used by umpires to determine whether or not a ball is in or out.
A range of automated voices will be used to mimic that of a line judge with a call of “out”, “fault”, or “foot fault”.
The voices will be from people who work behind the scenes at Wimbledon, such as tour guides at the ground and the museum.
A video operator will oversee the technology from an external room.
