Who is Antonio Zucca?

Antonio Zucca, born in April 1992, is a former Italian tennis pro who competed mainly on the ITF circuit.

He reached a career-high ranking of 1,066 before retiring in 2017.

Antonio first met Siegemund at a tournament in Rome that very year.

He later became Laura’s hitting partner in 2018, before going on to join her coaching team.

Things quickly developed into a romantic partnership.

By late 2019, the couple had made their relationship public.

Antonio’s experience as a former player have been instrumental in Laura’s career, guiding her to a number of key achievements.

She reached her first Grand Slam singles quarter-final at the 2020 French Open, won a US Open doubles title the same year, before going on to lift a 2024 French Open mixed doubles crown.

Laura credits Antonio’s’s support with helping her stay focused and resilient, especially as she competes at a high level into her late thirties.

After being Zheng Qinwen at the 2025 Australian Open, Laura said of her boyfriend and coach: “First of all, I love him very much.

“The best part is we’re spending our life together on tour.

“It’s very hard if your boyfriend or husband is not traveling with you.

“We’re sharing all the great and terrible moments together, and that’s the best part.

“He’s always by my side, which I really appreciate very much.”
