Germany is coming off a brutal, 5-1 loss to Switzerland on Thursday. Switzerland scored five unanswered goals before Germany put one on the board. Four of the goals came in the second period after a neutral 0-0 first frame.
Meanwhile, the United States defeated Norway 6-5 in overtime on Wednesday, May 14. Team USA scored four first quarter goals, but they lost steam as the game went on. Tage Thompson netted the overtime winner about four minutes into the extra period.
The United States can leapfrog Germany in the Group B standings with a regulation victory.
