Weghorst left with blood pouring down head after collision… but laughs off ‘s*** Andy Carroll’ chant from Chelsea fans

FORMER Manchester United forward Wout Weghorst was left with blood pouring from his head before giving away a penalty in a horror few minutes against Chelsea.

With the score at 2-1, after scoring a penalty of his own, 33-year-old Weghorst clashed with Tosin Adarabioyo in an aerial battle.

The Dutch forward went to ground with a huge graze on his head after Tosin caught him with a boot as they crashed to the floor.

The camera’s panned to Weghorst, who had blood pouring from his head and all down his face, with the game briefly stopped by the referee.

After receiving treatment, Weghorst was bought back into the game by Ajax manager John Heitinga, only to make more of a mess of things moments later.

The Ajax number 25 ran back into his own box to defend, and slid straight into the back of Enzo Fernandez, giving away a penalty to Chelsea.

Fernandez himself dispatched it, to give the Blues a 3-1 lead.

Weghorst was branded a ‘s*** Andy Carroll‘ by the home fans shortly after at Stamford Bridge.

Believe it or not, Weghorst’s first half then got EVEN worse.

After Chelsea were awarded the third penalty of the night, the tall striker was given a yellow card, as Ajax tried to delay Estevao from taking the spot kick.

18-year-old Estevao didn’t let the pressure get to him, hammering his first Champions League goal into the top corner from the spot to add Chelsea’s fourth.

This game has a history of red cards too, so it was no surprise to see another tonight – especially with Chelsea’s record of late.

Interestingly though, all three in the past two meetings have gone to Ajax, as Daley Blind and Joel Veltman were both sent off last time they met, in an infamous 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge.
