The Utah Mammoth, formerly known as the “Utah Hockey Club, officially launched their first collection of licensed NHL merchandise just one week after unveiling their team name and logo. This milestone marks the completion of the franchise’s planned evolution from temporary placeholder to permanent identity as they prepare for their sophomore NHL season.
The franchise joined the NHL as an expansion team at the beginning of the 2024-25 season under the temporary “Utah Hockey Club” moniker. From the outset, team ownership made it clear they intended to rebrand before their second NHL season, a promise they’ve now delivered on with the introduction of the Mammoth identity. The organization conducted an extensive four-round community voting process before finalizing the name. This methodical, fan-centric approach ensured the identity would resonate with the local community while establishing strong foundations for the franchise’s future.
The newly revealed logo has drawn widespread praise for its meaningful connection to Utah’s natural history. The design cleverly incorporates the prehistoric mammoth, mammals that once roamed Utah during the last ice age, with a subtle nod to the state’s iconic geography.
Team officials have confirmed that official game jerseys are not included in this first merchandise release. The highly anticipated jersey designs will be unveiled at a later date as part of a separate launch event.
