Sinner hails Draper
Jannik Sinner praised pal Jack Draper after the World No1’s gruelling three-hour, three-set win.
The Italian said: “Me and Jack, we know each other well. We are good friends.
“It was a very physical match. I tried to stay mentally in it.
“He is so tough to beat. It’s a special occasion to come out here.”
Sinner added: “I’m just happy to be in the final, whoever it is will be a very tough opponent for me.
“I will be positive.. keep pushing… then see what I can do Sunday.”
RESULT: Sinner 7-5 7-6 6-2 Draper
A cross-court winner on his first match-point clinched a remorseless win for Jannick Sinner in just over three hours.
But Jack Draper can be proud of his dogged display, especially of his second-set aggression.
However, he vomited FOUR times during the match – perhaps contributing to his apparent tiredness from towards the end of that second set.
