There are just two weeks of regular season football remaining, and yet the chase for the No. 1 pick is as close as ever.
The league is in the final stretch of the season, with most of the Week 16 action concluded. Playoff spots continue to get snatched up left and right, while other clubs are eliminated from the postseason. For those not looking forward to the playoffs, the focus is on the NFL draft.
The Raiders entered Week 16 at No. 1 in the draft order, but that has since changed. Las Vegas picked up its third win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Jaguars on the road to improve to 3-12. It dropped the team out of the top spot in the draft order, moving Vegas down to No. 6. With the loss, it moved the Jaguars to the No. 3 spot in the draft.
As a result, the Giants are the only team left with just two wins on the season, moving them to the very top of the draft board. New York did its part in order to stay in the hunt for the top pick in the draft, suffering a blowout loss at the hands of Atlanta, and they now are in the driver’s seat to pick first in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Elsewhere, the Titans, Browns, and Patriots all lost in Week 16, keeping their chances at the top pick alive with just weeks of regular season play remaining.
The Cowboys hurt their cause by beating the Buccaneers on Sunday, likely falling out of contention for a top-10 pick.
Here’s a look at how the NFL Draft order looks after Week 16 action.

NFL DRAFT NEWS:

Here’s a look at the top 10 NFL Draft prospects, based on our own Vinnie Iyer’s latest 2025 big board:
Rank | Player | Position | College team |
1 | Travis Hunter | CB/WR | Colorado |
2 | Mason Graham | DT | Michigan |
3 | Will Johnson | CB | Michigan |
4 | Tetairoa McMillan | WR | Arizona |

8 | Shedeur Sanders | QB | Colorado |
9 | Cam Ward | QB | Miami |
10 | Will Campbell | OT | LSU |
There is no shortage of talent expected to headline the 2025 NFL Draft. However, two names come from the same program: Two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Hunter, who plays both wide receiver and cornerback, was just named the winner of the 2024 Heisman Trophy race. While he’s expected to commit to one side of the ball in the NFL, he has shown his ability to make an impact both on offense and defense. Sanders is potentially going to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the draft, joining Miami’s Cam Ward and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe as QBs expected to go toward the top of the board.
Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty out of Boise State put together one of the greatest rushing seasons ever in college. He is undoubtedly the top running back in the draft, and where he is selected will be a hot topic leading up to draft day.
Defensively, a trio of Big Ten players will likely headline the 2025 draft class: Michigan’s duo of DL Mason Graham and CB Will Johnson, plus Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.
