Tyreek Hill trade proposal sends superstar wide receiver to AFC contender

Tyreek Hill trade proposal sends superstar wide receiver to AFC contender

After another disappointing season for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, wide receiver Tyreek Hill wasn’t shy about expressing his desire to leave the team for greener pastures in 2025.

While it looked like Hill was on his way out the door after his very public comments, he has since walked them back and is now intent on staying in Miami, where he has two years left on his $90 million contract that runs through 2026.

“I love it (in Miami),” he said. “My family loves it. Kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning. We are really building something special in Miami. We made it to the playoffs the first two years. Obviously this year was hard, but if guys continue to buy in to what coach (Mike McDaniel) is building and the culture that he is trying to build, it’s going to be a beautiful thing.”

The Dolphins have to see the writing is on the wall that Hill may not be long for Miami and it’s just a matter of time before he demands a trade if things go south again in 2025.

With that in mind, analysts have been drawing up possible landing spots for Hill if he’s dealt, and The Sporting News’ Austen Bundy believes the Baltimore Ravens could be one of them.

It feels like no matter which super star Baltimore adds to its roster, it’s never enough to get over the championship hump. Hill might be the missing piece.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson currently has a solid wide receiver room featuring Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and the newly signed Deandre Hopkins. Bateman hasn’t topped 800 receiving yards in a season yet but could serve as a deal sweetener in any swap with Miami.

Hill’s speed, Flowers’ hands and Hopkins’ veteran wisdom would be a deadly trio in Charm City.

The Ravens addressed their need at wide receiver with the signing of DeAndre Hopkins, but with Baltimore having Super Bowl aspirations, they could have interest in adding a superstar talent like Hill.

Bundy offers an interesting scenario here that could see Rashod Bateman, who is currently the team’s No. 2 wide receiver behind Zay Flowers, included in a trade package for Hill, which Baltimore would probably be open to.

The deciding factor in any trade will be the draft pick compensation. Even if the Ravens include Bateman, we could still see the Dolphins getting a third-round selection from Baltimore in the deal.

Hill had a down year in 2024, but there were several factors at play there. Not only was Hill playing hurt for much of the season, he also had to overcome terrible quarterback play while Tua Tagovailoa missed six games.

Hill isn’t likely to be as productive as in years past in the Ravens’ run-first offense, but he would likely trade that for the chance at a Super Bowl that Baltimore will offer.

A trio of Hill, Flowers and Hopkins would be a huge boost for Lamar Jackson and would give the Ravens a passing attack that can compete with the very best in the NFL.
