The Miami Dolphins finished their 2024 season with an 8-9 record, in second place in the AFC East (behind the Buffalo Bills) and outside of the playoffs for the first time in the Mike McDaniel era.

Miami’s struggles led to an outburst at the end of the season from wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who seemed to ask for a trade by saying that he was out and changing his social media profile picture to Antonio Brown running off the field with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While Hill and general manager Chris Grier clarified that there was never an official trade request, the wideout has recently been reacting to trade ideas on social media with smiling emojis and peace sign emojis.

With that, Yardbarker’s Steve Delvecchio recently put together a list of teams that could be the best landing spots for Hill in a trade, including the Los Angeles Chargers.

Hill has been one of the most dominant receivers in the league since entering the league as a fifth-round pick (No. 165 overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 NFL draft following collegiate stints at Garden City Community College, Oklahoma State and West Alabama.

In his six seasons in Kansas City, Hill won a Super Bowl, made six Pro Bowls and earned All-Pro honors thrice.

In 2022, the Chiefs sent Hill to the Dolphins for a package of five draft picks, including a 2022 first-round selection. Upon arriving in Miami, Hill immediately received a four-year, $120 million extension, making him the highest-paid wideout in NFL history.

Over the last three years, Hill has made two more Pro Bowls and two more All-Pro teams while catching 319 passes for 4,468 yards and 26 touchdowns. This past year was a down one for Hill, as he caught just 81 passes for 959 yards and six scores.

Pro Football Focus gave Hill a 72.7 overall grade for his performance in 2024, ranking him 43rd out of 98 qualified NFL receivers. He also earned a 77.3 receiving grade, good for 28th.

The Chargers have an intriguing wide receiver room, headlined by 2024 second-round pick Ladd McConkey, who finished his rookie season with over 1,000 yards receiving. 2023 first-round pick Quentin Johnson hasn’t exactly lived up to his draft status, but Los Angeles brought back Mike Williams to help out after a lost year split between the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Adding Hill to this group could really open things up for Justin Herbert and allow the other wideouts to draw easier matchups and find open spaces in zones. That could be exactly what they need to help turn them into true contenders in a division that’s been won by the Chiefs for nine straight seasons.
