Tyreek Hill trade idea sends Dolphins superstar to new-look AFC squad

The Las Vegas Raiders have turned over a good chunk of their franchise in the last few months, bringing in John Spytek as their new general manager and Pete Carroll as their head coach.

On the field, they swung a deal with the Seattle Seahawks for quarterback Geno Smith, who will take over as the starter in 2025 after they had Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder all take snaps last season.

While Smith should be an upgrade, his weapons could be better. Second-year tight end Brock Bowers is phenomenal and first-round pick Ashton Jeanty should be a great running back as a rookie, but the wide receiver room is lacking behind Jakobi Meyers.

At this point in the offseason, the Raiders still have roughly $36 million in cap space (per Over the Cap), and they could still make another huge trade to improve their offense. Interestingly, CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin recently named Las Vegas as a top landing spot for veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Hill, 31, was a fifth-round pick (No. 165 overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs after he spent two years at Garden City Community College, one year at Oklahoma State and another at West Alabama.

With the Chiefs, Hill was dynamic on the field, catching 479 passes for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns while winning a Super Bowl and earning All-Pro honors five times and Pro Bowl honors six times.

Kansas City sent Hill to the Miami Dolphins in 2022 for a haul, and over the last three years, he’s caught 319 passes for 4,468 yards and 26 touchdowns.

The 5-foot-10 wideout shared his displeasure with the team’s finish at the end of last season, but Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has publicly stated they aren’t looking to trade Hill at this time.

While Hill may cost quite a bit for the Raiders to acquire, he still has two years under contract (which can be renegotiated to avoid an insane $51.89 million cap hit in 2026).

His speed would make a huge difference for Las Vegas’ offense and could really open things up underneath for Bowers to be even better than he was as a rookie in 2024.
