Two British GT stars absent from 2025 grid as 2 Seas reveals new line-up

Two British GT stars are set to skip the 2025 championship in favour of racing abroad together as 2 Seas Motorsport has announced a changed driver line-up for this season.

Phil Keen, who is tied with Jonny Adam for the most overall race wins on 19, and 2022 champion Ian Loggie decided they needed a break from British GT with series costs understood to be a significant factor.

The pair are championship veterans and finished fourth in last year’s standings, initially aboard a Mercedes GT3 before switching to a Porsche.

They intended to race the 911 at the last two rounds, but Keen/Loggie skipped the Brands Hatch finale so it only received an outing at Donington Park.

In their place at 2 Seas is the reigning British GT4 Pro-Am champion Charles Dawson and series debutant Kiern Jewiss, who won both the 2018 British Formula 4 championship and 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup GB title.

“It is fantastic to confirm a return to racing after a year out and I’m excited to join 2 Seas Motorsport with Charles,” said Jewiss.

“It is going to be a new challenge, having not driven the Mercedes-AMG GT3 before and it is a new championship for me to get to grips with.”

Dawson, who clinched the GT4 Pro-Am title with Seb Morris in a Team Parker Mercedes, added: “Following the success in British GT, it felt like the right time to step up to GT3.

“To be able to do so with a team like 2 Seas will be a fantastic experience. I am really looking forward to spending the season with them, developing my skills, and working with Kiern, who comes with a fantastic background.

“He is a brilliant talent and, together, I think we make a really strong pairing.”

Aboard the sister 2 Seas Mercedes will be Kevin Tse and 2021 DTM champion Maximilian Gotz, who returns for his sophomore year.

The duo finished seventh in the 2024 standings and won at Spa-Francorchamps and Snetterton, but those victories were marred by three non-scores.

“It is great to be back with the crew at 2 Seas and running again with Max,” said Tse, who is set for his fifth British GT campaign.

“Last year, we showed ourselves to be a strong package, but we lacked consistency across the season.

“It seems that we were all or nothing: either taking a win or not scoring any points, which is not the way to tackle the championship.

“This year we are in a much better position. The aim is to execute every weekend as we know we can, without any mistakes. If we can do this, we will be championship contenders.”

There are now 20 cars confirmed for the forthcoming season, which will be spread across nine rounds beginning at Donington Park on 5-6 April.

Among the other drivers to be announced recently is Adam, who will again partner Giacomo Petrobelli in a Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
