Turki Alalshikh Responds “Done Deal” to Jack Catterall’s Contract Offer to Restrict Feints and Jabs

Jack Catterall posted directly to Turki Alalshikh on social media, telling him he’ll fight whoever he chooses and he’ll limit the amount of “feints and jabs” he uses. Catterall said he’d even put it in the contract. Turki responded favorably, saying, “Done deal.”

“British Shakur” Style Transformation

It might be impossible for Catterall to change his ways not to feint, clinch, and run around the ring. He’s not nicknamed ‘The British Shakur’ for nothing. He’s straight out of the Stevenson mold with his Jerry style of fighting.

Welterweight apex predators Await Catterall

You take that out of him, and you’re left with a simple fighter with zero power, and completely out of his element in the welterweight division with the apex predators that feed on light hitters.

If Turki is going to get any value out of using the revamped Catterall, he needs to match him against one of these fighters next:

– Shakhram Giyasov
– Karen Chukhadzhian
– Eimantas Stanionis

The welterweight division is so utterly weak right now that it’s difficult even to find a halfway decent fighter. Devin Haney is about to get destroyed in his next fight. So, he won’t be useful. Ryan Garcia looked mentally and physically a caricature of the fighter he’d been a year ago when he humilated Haney.

Catterall doesn’t deserve a title shot after his performance against Harlem Eubank Jr, loss to Arnold Barboza Jr., or the defensive style he showed against Regis Prograis.

“Unwatchable” Fight to New Contract

Catterall’s last fight against Harlem Eubank Jr. (21-1, 9 KOs) on July 5th was labeled as ‘unwatchable’ by fans due to both fighters’ unwillingness to engage. It was the type of fight that Turki wouldn’t have enjoyed watching, as both guys played it safe the entire fight. For Catterall, it was a typical performance by him, because he’s ALWAYS fought that way. This wasn’t out of the norm.
