It had been nearly three months since fans last got to see Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter flash his two-way skills on the field. With the NFL Draft looming, that changed on Friday.

Hunter took the field at Colorado’s pro day, attempting to prove to NFL executives, scouts and coaches that he deserves to be the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft. While many projections have the Titans taking a quarterback with the top overall pick, the team has said it would not pass on a generational talent. If anyone is capable of proving they are that kind of player, it’s Hunter.

The two-way star, who has said definitively that he plans to play both cornerback and wide receiver in the NFL, didn’t participate in most of the workouts at Colorado’s pro day. However, Hunter did showcase his elite route-running skills, taking the field to catch passes from quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

The Sporting News tracked live updates and highlights from Hunter’s pro day. Below are some highlights from the Heisman Trophy winner’s performance.

Will Travis Hunter work out at Colorado’s pro day?

NFL Network’s James Palmer initially reported Hunter is not expected to work out at Colorado’s pro day, but Hunter is set to run some routes on Friday.

Given that both Sanders and Hunter did not participate in the Big 12 Pro Day, it was considered more likely that they work out during the Buffaloes’ event, which will be televised by NFL Network and attended by all 32 teams.

Hunter and Sanders also both sat out of NFL Combine drills earlier in the spring, only participating in measurements and media availability.

Travis Hunter NFL Draft projection

Hunter might be the most talented player in the draft, but his chances of becoming the No. 1 pick depend on whether the Titans prioritize a quarterback if they hold onto the top choice.

At the moment, Hunter isn’t the projected No. 1 pick. SN’s Vinnie Iyer projects the Giants as Hunter’s landing spot with the No. 3 overall pick, while the NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus of mock drafts from dozens of outlets also projects Hunter as the No. 3 overall pick to New York.

It’s tough to envision any scenario in which Hunter falls out of the top five, given his two-way skillset.
