Rash move
Marcus Rashford sent a brief message to Manchester United fans ahead of the New Year – amid uncertainty over his future at the club.
The forward shocked supporters in November by suggesting he is looking for a new challenge away from Old Trafford.
Rashford, 27, has since been exiled from the United squad under new boss Ruben Amorim.
He returned as an unused substitute in the 2-0 loss to Newcastle on Monday.
Sat on a sofa with a framed matchday shirt behind him, Rashford captioned a snap on Instagram: “Happy New Years. May 2025 bring you all happiness.”
Going Al out
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for a £100million payday – if he joins La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Spanish club had an approach for the Liverpool full-back – who is out of contract in June – rebuffed earlier this week.
As revealed by SunSport, Real are prepared to give the England right back a hefty increase on his £180,000-a-week Anfield wages.
A hefty signing-on fee would make TAA one of the best-paid players in the world.
American dream
Miguel Almiron looks set for a £16million exit from Newcastle – and back to the MLS
The Paraguayan winger, 30, saw a move to Charlotte FC collapse in the summer as they refused to meet Toon’s asking price.
Charlotte assistant manager Christian Fuchs revealed: “There are always a lot of names being associated with Charlotte FC.
“And all I know is that, once it is signed, Almiron will be a great addition to our club and I would really look forward to him joining us and playing for us.”
Young Gun on the move
Wigan have announced the signing of Arsenal defender Josh Robinson on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The 20-year-old did not make an appearance for the Gunners senior side, but was an unused substitute in four Champions League games this season.
Wigan manager Shaun Maloney said: “Moving here was a significant decision for him.
“But Josh is both excited and motivated about our vision for the club in the coming seasons.”
Ready devil
Ruben Amorim has reportedly demanded Manchester United buy Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres in January.
The Portuguese boss has suffered a dismal start to his tenure at the Theatre of Dreams.
Gyokores has been prolific for Sporting since signing from Coventry in the summer of 2023.
According to The Daily Star, Amorim is so worried by United’s lack of firepower that he wants to spend big this month rather than wait until the summer.
The Swede, 26, has hit a staggering 26 goals in 24 matches this season.
He is contracted in Lisbon until 2028, with a release clause of around £80million.
