Rodrygo going nowhere
Real Madrid star Rodrygo has had a change of heart and wants to stay with the club.
The Brazilian winger has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham this summer.
There were claims that he had fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, plus he was allegedly angry that the team was being built around Kylian Mbappe – not Vinicius Jr and himself.
Rodrygo is now set to stay in Madrid and wants to convince Xabi Alonso he is still committed.
Lopez hijacking?
Reports in Spain claim that Arsenal and Chelsea could hijack Man Utd’s interest in Barcelona star Fermin Lopez.
The two London clubs have also made enquires about him in this window.
United are supposedly lining up a £61m bid for the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
Talks over a deal for Lopez came up while they were sorting out Marcus Rashford’s loan move to the Catalan giants.
But with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in a rush to get Rashford’s wages off the balance sheet, they decided to get the deal done and come back for Lopez at a later date.
Dortmund want Sancho back
Borussia Dortmund remain keen on signing United “bomb squad” star Jadon Sancho.
The German giants have not yet made an official bid but have been in contact with their Old Trafford counterparts.
United want to sell Sancho permanently but Sky Sports claim a loan with an option to then buy cannot be ruled out.
Juventus, Napoli and sides in Saudi Arabia are also monitoring the situation.
A return to Dortmund for Sancho would be his third spell at the club.
Atalanta CEO on Lookman
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has confirmed that there was an agreement for Arsenal target and ex-Fulham forward Ademola Lookman to leave if the right offer came in, but not to Italian clubs.
He said: “The pact with Lookman was made one year ago when we rejected £17.5m from PSG.”
“We told him ‘we’ll let you leave in 2025 for a super top club and not in Italy.’ Now, the situation [with Inter] is different, and as always, it’s us deciding.”
The 27-year-old has handed in a transfer request, and is seen as a cheaper alternative to Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
Man City ‘reach agreement’ with Dias over new deal
Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle with Ruben Dias over a new contract, according to The Athletic.
The defender’s current deal expires in June 2027.
Sesko deal takes twist
Man Utd’s tussle with Newcastle over Benjamin Sesko has welcomed a new twist.
The Red Devils and the Magpies have been hot on the heels of the Slovenian striker, 22, in recent weeks.
And now, according to German outlet Bild, Sesko has told both clubs that he is only opening to joining them.
Sesko informed his agent that he will choose between either Man Utd or Newcastle if he were to leave RB Leipzig this summer.
The chat allegedly took place during a meeting on Sunday after Sesko was left out of Leipzig’s squad for their friendly against Atalanta.
Newcastle made their first move on Saturday with a club-record offer worth £69.8million including add-ons.
But that was knocked back by Leipzig who are now demanding £70million guaranteed.
The total package is expected to exceed £70million when the clubs include add-ons.
