EXCLUSIVE: Wolves agree personal terms with Genk striker
Wolves have reached a verbal agreement with Genk striker Tolu Arokodare as they race to land a forward before the transfer window shut on Monday night.
Sunsport understands the 24-year-old is open to a move to Molineux, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
Genk value the Nigerian at £20million, with Napoli, AC Milan and Manchester United all having taken a look at him over the summer.
Arokodare bagged 21 league goals last season, the most by any player in Belgium, and chipped in with five assists to cap off an outstanding campaign.
Sunsportreported earlier this summer that the Belgian Jupiler Pro League top scorer was attracting Premier League interest and we can now confirm that Wolves have held initial talks with the player’s camp.
No formal bid has been made yet but one is expected in the coming days as the final weekend of the window approaches and clubs scramble to get deals over the line.
Wolves have also shown interest in Getafe striker Uche Christantus, as boss Vitor Pereira looks to add more firepower to his squad.
In other transfer news, Wolves have turned down two bids from Newcastle for forward Strand Larsen, who came off the bench to score twice in their 3-2 win over West Ham the other night.
Newcastle remain keen on the former Celta Vigo man despite closing in on of Nick Woltemade.
The Midlands club are bracing for a third bid, with manager Pereira refusing to rule out a late sale.
He said: “If it’s my decision, of course [he stays]. He is a very important player.”
Last season Larsen scored 14 league goals and provided four assists.
