More on Rashford link
SunSport understand Manchester United’s out-of-favour star Marcus Rashford is being targeted by Newcastle.
The Magpies want to pair Rashford with Alexander Isak ahead of the coming season.
However, SunSport also understand the Toon are keeping tabs on Brighton star Joao Pedro as well.
Manager Eddie Howe is looking for a striker to replace Callum Wilson as Isak’s backup.
Rashford likes to play down the left wing but that would be impossible at St James’ Park if Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes remain.
Plus, the England international’s preferred destination is Barcelona but the Spanish champions appear to be prioritising Liverpool star Luis Diaz.
Feeling Bonny
Inter Milan are closing in on the signing of Parma striker Ange-Yoan Bonny.
The move will likely put an end to any interest in Man Utd’s Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but is keen to fight for his place under Ruben Amorim.
Bonny is yet to agree personal terms with Inter, who are paying Parma £21m for the 21-year-old.
Join the Club
New Man City signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki made their debuts on Wednesday night in the Club World Cup.
The pair featured in a comfortable 2-0 win over Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
Wirtz booked in for medical
Florian Writz will undergo a medical with Liverpool on Friday ahead of his record-breaking transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German is currently on holiday but will head to Merseyside ahead of the weekend to finalise the £116m move.
Toffees eye Barry
Thierno Barry is the latest forward to be linked with a move to Everton.
The 22-year-old scored 11 goals for Villarreal in a breakthrough season in LaLiga.
Sky report Barry has suitors in the Prem, with Everton tracking him ahead of a busy summer.
Pep talk
Pep Guardiola has confirmed Jack Grealish’s Man City exit plan.
Grealish is desperate for regular gametime ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
And he has been overlooked for City’s Club World Cup squad.
Asked if Grealish’s future is away from the Etihad, Guardiola said on Wednesday: “I don’t know.
“Now we decided ‘don’t come here’ and what happens in the end I don’t know.
“If we don’t find [a transfer], he’s a player for Man City and he will be back.
“He had a conversation between him and the club and they decided it was best [to miss Club World Cup].”
