Armando Resendiz will be looking to ruin the plans of WBA interim super middleweight champion Caleb Plant tonight for future fights by upsetting him in their headliner at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. If the underdog Resendiz, 26, can defeat Plant (23-2, 14 KOs), he’ll put himself in a position for big fights. Plant, 32, needs a win tonight for a big-money clash against Jermall Charlo to happen later this year.

Live Boxing Results: Plant-Resendiz

The Plant vs. Resendiz event tonight will be shown live on PBC on Prime Video starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT. The ring walks for the Plant-Resendiz headliner are at approximately 11:00 p.m.

Jermall Charlo Returns to the Ring

Jermall Charlo will be coming off a long layoff to face Thomas LaManna in a 10-round chief support bout at super middleweight. There’s a lot of interest from boxing fans in seeing how the former two-division world champion Charlo (33-0, 22 KOs) will perform. Between 2008 and 2021, he was one of the best fighters in the sport. Jermall was seen as the better of the Charlo brothers.

In Charlo’s last fight two years ago against Jose Benavidez Jr., he appeared to have lost some of his skills due to 2+ years of inactivity. However, Jermall seems more mentally and physically vibrant for tonight’s fight against LaManna.

When Jermall was still active, he was a far better talent than Caleb Plant and would likely destroy him without too many problems. The question is, has Charlo lost too much from his game for him to defeat his tune-up opponent, LaManna (39-5-1, 18 KOs) and Plant? If Charlo can resurrect his former self, LaManna won’t make it past the fourth round

Jermall, 35, said this week that he thinks Caleb Plant “looks old,” and was surprised to learn that he’s three years older than the Tennessee native. Charlo didn’t give an actual age that he views Plant as, but it’s fair to say that he sees him around 38 or 39. A lot of fans would agree with that.
