The Tennessee Titans have spent the majority of the offseason preparing for the arrival of a rookie quarterback as they hold the keys to the 2025 NFL Draft.
Holding the No. 1 overall pick, the Titans have several ways they can go about starting the biggest weekend of the offseason. Their words say they are open to trading out or passing on a quarterback, but their actions suggest otherwise.
Given the likelihood of a quarterback selection at No. 1, the Titans could continue to bolster the offense by adding another veteran wideout to the room in the form of former Seattle Seahawks star Tyler Lockett, per Kyle Soppe of Pro Football Network.
“I’m presuming that Cam Ward is the Tennessee Titans’ QB of the present and future. He’s not likely going to be put into a position to significantly succeed out of the gates, so why not get a veteran presence in the locker room that probably pencils in as the WR2 in the short term (Treylon Burks or Van Jefferson currently hold that role)?” Sopper wrote. “Lockett may no longer impact winning at a high level, but he should be able to impact signal caller development, and that figures to be the name of the game in Tennessee over the next 12 months.”
Lockett, 32, spent the first 10 seasons of his NFL career with the Seahawks, averaging 1,030 yards and eight touchdowns per season from 2018-2023. He was released this offseason coming off the worst campaign of his career since becoming a starter when he produced 49 receptions for 600 yards and two touchdowns.
The Titans need a No. 2 wide receiver to put alongside Calvin Ridley, who is going into his second season in Nashville. Spotrac is currently projecting a one-year, $7.7 million deal for Lockett so he wouldn’t break the bank for Tennessee.

With the Titans expected to bring in a rookie quarterback, they need to surround him with as much talent as possible. Lockett may be past his prime, but he could be a solid veteran to add to the room.
