Tim Bradley’s Prediction: Benavidez to “Stomp” & Knock Out Yarde in November 22nd Fight

Tim Bradley’s Prediction: Benavidez to “Stomp” & Knock Out Yarde in November 22nd Fight

Tim Bradley predicts that David Benvidez will stomp on Anthony Yarde before knocking him out in their November 22nd headliner at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

Benavidez’s First Light Heavyweight Defense

Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) selected Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs) as the challenger for him to make his first defense of his WBC light heavyweight title on DAZN PPV. He could have chosen to rematch David Morrell or defend against the Beterbiev-esque Imam Khataev. Yarde is the one he wanted.

“Yarde is about to get his behind whooped, stomped on, and knocked out,” said Tim Bradley on his channel, predicting a victory for David Benavidez over Anthony Yarde on November 22nd. “Yarde is going to be fighting, but he’s going to be getting drained and drained. He’s going to get beat on.”

Morrell Fight Impact on Benavidez

We don’t know what we’re going to see from ‘The Mexican Monster’ Benavidez in this fight because he’s coming off a grueling war with David Morrell last February. Benavidez won the fight, but Morrell took his pound of flesh in that contest.

He inflicted a lot of damage on him. You could tell from looking at Benavidez’s disfigured face that the fight took a lot more out of him than it did Morrell, who was barely marked. The natural power advantage that Morrell had was what did it. He landed fewer punches than Benavidez, but the ones he did connect with did a lot of damage.

We don’t know what Benavidez will be like coming from that fight into what will be another war against Yarde. Morrell may have taken the best out of David, leaving him a shell of the fighter he’d been.

Bradley Doubts Yarde’s Boxing Style

“He may have a few rounds where he’s going to have success, but it’s going to be like a spider being caught in a spiderweb. Benavidez is going to be putting knots on top of his head. Benavidez is too long. It’s the wrong style for him. Yarde is a decent boxer,” said Bradley.

Tim is going by his memories of Benavidez from the past, when he was fighting at 168 against lesser fighters, like Demetrius Andrade, David Lemieux, Ronald Ellis, and Kyrone Davis. Yarde is a different animal. Again, Benavidez is coming out of the warzone, having been shelled for 12 rounds by Morrell. He may be null and void after that fight.

“Both of these guys didn’t have extensive amateur pedigrees. But Benavidez has been in the ring with a lot of champions. He’s worked with them. He’s learned a lot just from the gym alone. He was one of the youngest fighters to win a world championship at 168 pounds,” said Bradley.

It’s true, Benavidez was 20 when he won his first title in 2017 at 168, but he did it against Ronald Gavril. This wasn’t one of the best fighters. Also, the victory was controversial for their first fight in the eyes of many fans. People believe Benavidez was gifted that win.
