‘This match is extra special’

ARSENAL will welcome Brazil back to the Emirates for the first time in seven years in a star-studded friendly next month.

The Samba Boys last played at the Gunners’ North London home in 2018 – a 1-0 victory against Uruguay courtesy of a Neymar strike, and have been there nine times in total.

And ahead of next summer’s World Cup, Carlo Ancelotti will lead his Brazil side out against Senegal on November 15.

They then travel to Lille, France to face Tunisia on November 18.

Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel will have the rare honour of donning the yellow and blue jersey at their own stadium.

Martinelli said: “For me, this match is extra special. I’ve been with Arsenal for over six years now and have many beautiful memories of playing at Emirates Stadium.

“Now, with the Brazil team coming back and playing here, it will be a very special occasion.”

Hopeful of a sell-out crowd during the international break, Arsenal have revealed the tickets are on sale at a reduced price: from £23 for adults and £11 for U16s.

Brazil have a fine record at the Emirates, winning eight and losing just one of their nine outings so far.

The first came shortly after the stadium opened in 2006, beating Lionel Messi’s Argentina 3-0

They also saw off the likes of Sweden, Italy, Scotland, Republic of Ireland and Chile.

Their one defeat was against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, losing out 2-0 in 2007.

Senegal have qualified for the World Cup after storming through their group.

The West African will provide strong competition for the Selecao, with the likes of Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr and Bayern Munich’s Nicolas Jacskon in their squad.

They are captained by former Chelsea man Kalidou Koulibaly.

And they meted out a warning to the football world back in June when they convincingly beat Thomas Tuchel’s England 3-1 at the City Ground.
