The Texas Rangers and manager Bruce Bochy have parted ways, with the team announcing Monday they have “mutually agreed to end” Bochy’s time as manager. Texas ended the season with a 81-81 record, but fell six games short of the playoffs.
Bochy has been offered a chance to remain with the team as an advisor in the front office, though it is unclear if he will take that offer. One day after the end of the regular season, there are already two open manager roles, as the San Francisco Giants fire Bob Melvin and the Minnesota Twins dismissed Rocco Baldelli on Monday.
Bochy has been the Rangers’ manager since 2023, joining the team after managing the Giants and the San Diego Padres. Texas won the World Series in Bochy’s first year with the team.
