Tank Davis’ “Zesty” Makeover Has Tim Bradley Worried for Lamont Roach

Tim Bradley says Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis’s new look is a sign that he “doesn’t give a f***” about what people think of him. Bradley says Tank looks “real zesty”, which he sees as a positive because he feels he knows who he is now.

A leaked picture of the WBA lightweight champion Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) showed him laying on a beanbag chair with long hair straightened, perhaps by pomade, and appearing to be wearing makeup around his eyes. It’s unclear if it was eyeshadow or mascara.

“Zesty” & Unbothered 

He views this as bad for Gervonta’s next opponent, Lamont Roach, because he will take it out on him when they fight on March 1st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Tim doesn’t say how Tank’s new carefree attitude about his physical appearance ties into taking it out on Roach because it’s not like he’s been bad-mouthing him. If anything, he seems thankful for the payday.

The Power of Wealth

Tank is wealthy, and like many rich people, they don’t care what people think about them. They’re not living in the real world anymore due to their wealth. When you have the kind of mega-wealth that Tank Davis possesses, it’s freedom from the need to care about the judgment of others.

“Him having that picture leaked and him looking real zesty [femine] and not giving a f***. I’m trying to tell y’all. My man is on a new level,” said Tim Bradley on social media, reacting to the picture leaked of WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis showing off his new hairstyle and dress look.

“‘We on a new level. I’m on a new level.’ Yes, my dude [Tank] is on a new level because he knows who he is. There’s a power of knowing who you is. Most people don’t know who the hell they are. They think they are, but they really don’t know who they are.

“It takes a while to figure out. We’re constantly evolving as a human. We’re constantly evolving, but now he knows. Tank knows now. That’s why he don’t give a damn. Having that power and not giving a damn. Tank has that superpower,” said Bradley about Gervonta’s new look.

There have been no photos of Tank’s new hairstyle and eyewear since. It’s hard to say whether the new look is a sign of Davis’s evolving or just a mood that day. If we see him always looking like that, we can conclude that he’s “evolving,” as Bradley says.

“He just don’t give a f***. Tank going to be Tank. Tank is going to do what Tank going to do,” said Bradley. “Whether he’s looking zesty or not, he knows who he is. There’s a superpower to that. Guess who he’s going to take that out on? He’s going to take that out on Lamont Roach.

“I feel sorry for Roach. He’s a good fighter, but I’m telling you. This Tank right here is different. It’s a different dude. Did y’all see the weight, too? The dude [Gervonta] can fight tomorrow. The dude can fight today. The dude can fight whenever.

“It’s a few weeks away. It’s a few months away from the fight. I’m telling y’all locked in,” said Bradley.

I don’t see how Tank is going to treat Roach any differently now than he did the moment the fight was signed. Bradley is really reaching with his views. The fight is a mismatch and always was.

Tank’s weight is the real thing. He looks like he is near the 135-lb limit now, meaning he can easily drop down to 130 or 126 to take on the top guys in those divisions. Naoya Inoue is the fighter that fans want to see Tank fight, and that match can happen.
