LANDON DONOVAN has asked fans to help him pick out a WIG after he ran “out of options”.

The Premier League cult icon sported a receding hairline during loan spells at Everton in 2010 and 2012.

Donovan, now 43, has decided enough is enough and took to social media to call on fans to help him come up with a solution to his balding woes.

The American has tried hair transplant treatments in more than one occasion – going viral last year after sporting an unfortunate look on US TV.

But, after that failed, he has asked his 1.1million followers on X for help.

He said in a video: “I need your help. Since I was 18, 19, 20, I’ve been dealing with that. Hairline used to be here, and now this.

“So I tried everything. Tried the hair transplant treatment here, tried it back here. Nothing’s worked.

“My options now are shave it bald — don’t want to do that, not an option for me.

“Leave it as is — not an option right now. Or I can try the last thing, which is a hair system, basically a wig, to see if that works.

“So that’s what I’m thinking about doing, but I need your help. If I do it, what type of hairstyle should I get?

“I’m sure there will be a lot of banter, funny answers, that’s fine.

“But real answers too. I need your help.”

Donovan is considered as one of the best players to star in the MLS since its inception in 1996.

He had two loan spells at Everton while he was contracted to LA Galaxy.

The winger made 22 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting nine goals.

His first loan only ran for two months and his second lasted six weeks so he could return for the start of the MLS season.

The USA international also enjoyed spells in Germany as he turned out for Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in his career.

He hung up his boots for the last time in 2019, having won six MLS Cups with the Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes.
