It’s OK to feel some deja vu at the NHL Western Conference Final because it’s a rematch of last year.
The Stars had home-ice advantage in 2024, but it didn’t matter as the Oilers won in six games. It’s the same this year as Dallas will host Games 1 and 2 before heading north to Edmonton for Games 3 and 4.
Dallas won 50-plus games for the second consecutive year and has reached the conference finals for the third straight. This time, it’ll hope to advance to the franchise’s first Stanley Cup Final since 2020.
The Oilers, of course, made the trip to the Final last year and came one game away from raising the trophy. Edmonton lost to Florida in Game 7 after nearly overcoming a 3-0 deficit. The core remains as Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are still donning the orange and blue sweaters.
