SIDEMEN FC were beaten on penalties by iShowSpeed and the YouTube All stars in what was a match for the ages in the sunshine at Wembley.
The star-studded teams saw a closely contested game which finished 9-9 as the full-time whistle sounded after 90 minutes.
So many incredible moments still came for the Sidemen, however, with Zerkaa scoring his first Charity Match goal, Joe Weller and Logan Paul performing an incredible WWE celebration, and a host of fantastic moments from the world’s most iconic YouTube group.
This is how SunSport’s Lloyd Canfield rated the players…
xQc – 1
To be honest, was utterly woeful in the last Sidemen Charity Match, and pretty bad in this one too – but still better than Cal The Dragon.
Saved a penalty from Mr Beast to give him some props, but that was about it.
Vikkstar123 – 5
It was an understated performance from the 123 at right-back for Sidemen FC, as he proved to be a dependable and solid little right back in this one.
He’s taken the headlines and glory in previous renditions of the game, but has evolved his game into a defensive role over the years it seems.
Came so close to grabbing a goal too, but missed when it mattered most.
KSI – 6
After a STINKER of a showing in Qatar at the Match For Hope, he put in a good display which included a crucial last-ditch tackle on Niko Omilana.
Gets bonus points for a class half-time showing of his song ‘Thick of it’ which kept the fans entertained.
Wroetoshaw – 6
Solid at the back for his side with some vital tackles at key moments, one in particular to deny Theo Baker from being more unbearable than he already will be after his incredible performance.
Hit the post with what would’ve been a fine finish in the second half.
JME – 5
Had a tough day at the office against Speed as he occupied the left-back position for Sidemen FC, but managed to add a “SERIOUS” assist to his repertoire.
The best left-back on the pitch and showed some quick feet when he was driving forward with the ball.
The chemistry between him and Tobi was evident and only got better as the game went on.
TBJZL – 7
Shook off his Match For Hope injury in time for this game, and put in a brilliant performance on the right hand side for Sidemen FC, bagging a goal from just inside the box after a defensive mix-up.
You can tell he’s one of the more talented YouTubers out there. with his clean passing and dribbling skills setting him apart from the rest.
Behzinga – 8
Didn’t have too many touches in the first half, but came out in full force in the second.
Behz has been playing regular Sunday League footy for a while now, and that seems to have paid off as he was solid on the ball and off of it in this one.
Bagged a goal and assist in a superb all-round Wembley display.
Logan Paul – 8
His sensational celebration with Joe Weller in the first half will take most of the attention from what was an otherwise pretty good midfield showing.
He was everywhere and the engine in the Sidemen midfield; closing down, making passes and doing the simple things well throughout.
Even added a brilliant second-half header to his fantastic performance.
Joe Weller – 9
Opened the scoring from the penalty spot with a calmly dispatched spot kick before pulling off an UNREAL WWE celebration with Logan Paul which had clearly been very well rehearsed.
Joe was the Sidemen’s answer to Theo Baker on the day, with some tasty finishes and all-round good play.
Zerkaa – 5
Was on the hunt for his first ever Charity Match goal and came within inches of getting after a majestic headed touch and volley after about 20 minutes.
It looked as though it wasn’t gonna be his day before he superbly dispatched a penalty into the left hand side of the goal sending Wembley stadium into raptures!
Miniminter – 8
Clawed one back for his side from outside the box as well as generally being one of the better players on the pitch.
Often looked for Zerkaa to try and help his mate score his first Charity Match goal, but would’ve perhaps been better off going for goal himself at times.
SUBS:
Mark Rober – 5
It was a pretty quiet first half from Mark in this one, as he failed to really stamp any authority on the game.
Much the same in the second 45, though he scored his pen in the shoot-out at least.
Lazarbeam – 5
Quiet, didn’t do much of note.
WillNE – 6
Made a crucial block in the second half which won’t get as much credit as it deserves.
Struggled a bit other than that at right back, but who cares about conceding goals?
George Clarke – 8
Wembley Stadium’s sweetheart had captured the love of the fans before he even stepped on the pitch to rapturous applause.
Attempted a rocket from distance which got the crowd going, but it flew over the crossbar in the first half.
He did get a well-deserved goal at the death, which it looked like would be the winner, only for Theo Baker to crush his dreams of being the star.
Gets a bonus point for being the most handsome man on the pitch.
JasonTheWeen – 2
His only notable highlight was an attempted volley which he probably saw flying into the top corner, which actually flew out of bounds on the near side of the pitch for a throw-in…
Manny – 7
His tekkers and general ability were clear as soon as he came on the field.
A few really clever touches set him apart from your average player, and he clearly has the talent of someone able to play at a much better level than this.
Scored a lovely goal into the top right corner too.
Randolph – 5
Didn’t play many minutes, but was solid in those he did play.
