A FOOTBALL match was disrupted when supporters threw a PIG’S HEAD on to the pitch.
The Brazilian clash between Corinthians and Palmeiras at the Corinthians Arena is known as the Paulista derby.
With both clubs hailing from the city of Sao Paulo, there is a big rivalry between fans.
And that was on show in the latest meeting between the sides as a severed pig’s head was thrown on to the pitch 28 minutes into the game.
The head emerged from the crowd during a corner and Corinthians striker Yuri Aberto quickly went over to kick it away.
The head was then collected by stadium staff and removed entirely from the playing area.
It is believed that the home crowd tried to throw the head at Palmeiras players as the team are known as the Pigs.
The moment was caught on camera and shared on social media.
Fans were left stunned by the stunt and flooded the comment section.
One posted: “How do you get that past security?”
A second commented: “Brazil fans are crazy.”
A third wrote: “How the hell did they get a pig’s head in the ground, I can’t even take a plastic bottle.”
A fourth said: “The way he booted it off the pitch.”
Another added: “Imagine holding on to that for 28 mins waiting for a corner infront of you.”
Corinthians went on to win the derby 2-0 thanks to goals from Rodrigo Garro and Alberto.
